Rev. Fr. Dr. Thomas Kigen

Rev. Fr. Dr. Thomas Kigen was born and raised in Kaptarakwa, Elgeyo Marakwet County, Kenya. After completing his formative education in Mokwo, he joined the Mother of Apostles Seminary for his secondary education. He proceeded for higher education at the Mabanga Major Seminary where he obtained his BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies. He then joined St Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary where he obtained his BA in Theology in 1984. He was ordained a catholic priest in 1985 by Bishop John Njenga of Eldoret Diocese. In 1992, Fr. Kigen joined Vienna University in Austria for graduate education studying pastoral theology. He completed his M.A and was admitted for the Ph.D. program in the same university and, upon completion, received the Dr. ff Theology in May 1998. Fr. Kigen has served in various capacities as a priest, community leader, and educator. He taught Pastoral Theology at Tindinyo Major Seminary and Gaba Pastoral Institute, Eldoret. He is currently serving as the Parish Father in charge of Soy Parish.
