Our vision is to improve access to quality education for rural youth and support empowerment projects that create positive change and advance prosperity in our rural communities.

The Lelei Foundation (TLF) is a 501(c)(3) organization incorporated under the laws of the state of California whose purpose is providing charitable support for educational development and community empowerment projects in rural Kenya. We are dedicated to working together with rural communities to improve the quality of life for children and their families. Our primary focus is education, as we believe it is the cornerstone of personal and community development. We draw inspiration from the words of Nelson Mandela who said: "education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mine worker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation.” (Nelson Mandela, Aug 23, 2022). Through our efforts in improving access to quality education, we aim to empower the next generation and create sustainable pathways for success equipping the next generation with skills and knowledge that will benefit them and their communities. We are committed to making a lasting impact in our community as we envision a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive and contribute positively to society.
